An evergreen shrub with a compact, upright growth habit. Abundant, showy, trumpet-shaped flowers come in scarlet red. Foliage is hairy, glossy, and rich green. Kurume hybrid. Can tolerate full shade. Needs acidic soil, pH 4.5 - 6.0.
