Vancouver Fragrant Star Clematis

A deciduous vine with wiry, climbing tendrils. Large, open flowers are lightly fragrant like vanilla. Blooms in spring and fall. Petals are white and have a velvety texture. Stamens are purple and extra showy. Feathery, spherical seed heads remain after petals drop. Leaflets are medium green and more or less heart-shaped. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies.
