A deciduous vine with compact, spreading, climbing tendrils. Broad, lobed leaves turn from gray-green to yellow, orange, and red in fall. Bark is exfoliating and cinnamon-brown. Inconspicuous spring flowers emit a pleasant fragrance and attract bees. Small, edible grapes attract birds and other wildlife. Adaptable with pruning. Native to California and Oregon.
