A large, California-native, deciduous shade tree with rough, green, multi-lobed leaves. Attractive shedding bark with patches of brown, gray, and cream. Ball-shaped, fuzzy seed clusters persist on the tree in winter. Often develops multiple leaning and twisting trunks.
